Looking Back on 2015

Now that my last concerts are over, I finally have a little time to reflect on what an amazing year it’s been for me. Musically, I’ve never done more, and never been more challenged.

I was a soloist in the premiere concert of the Red Oak Contemporary Ensemble; (finally) re-joined C4 and performed some absolutely incredible new music, as well as joined in the recording of a new CD; and performed in the choir of the Paper Mill Playhouse production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, doing 20 shows over the course of a month. I was in the Rhymes With Opera summer workshop, where I performed two newly composed pieces. Plus a concert of The Planets and music from Star Trek and Star Wars, the Continuo spring and winter concerts, and subbing here and there to boot! Am I missing anything?

Some exciting stuff is already planned for the new year. I’m continuing on with C4 – two sets of concerts and more CD recording. And in our spring concert, I’m having my first premiere of a new choral work in 7 (? how did that happen) years. I should probably finish that thing. I’m also singing with Continuo, and hoping to do some church subbing along the way.

I’m hoping to attend the New Music Gathering this year, and will possibly apply for the SICPP and/or Bang on a Can Summer Workshops….you never know.
Thanks for all of your support and here’s looking to a wonderful 2016! (And a couple of weeks of vocal rest!)
